Before publication

Comments on selected stories require sign-in with ChatGPT. Your public display name appears with your comment; your email is not shown. AI reviews each submission before it becomes visible. If moderation is unavailable, the comment stays pending. Editors handle uncertain cases, reports and appeals.

What is welcome

Relevant questions, civil criticism, personal experiences and differing political viewpoints are welcome. Agreement with BusinessIndy, an advertiser or another reader is never required.

What is not accepted

Spam, promotions, threats, harassment, hateful slurs, impersonation, sexual content and disclosure of private information are not accepted. Links and images are disabled during the pilot. Factual accusations and uncertain claims may be held for editorial review.

Decisions and appeals

Open “Your submissions and decisions” under the story to see your comment’s status and explanation. You may appeal a rejection or removal once for human review. Use “Report comment” to flag a published contribution; reported comments are held while an editor checks them. Editors may remove comments, suspend accounts or close a discussion. To appeal an account suspension, contact the editor.
