EY-Parthenon reports that 62% of consumers plan to spend the same or more on holiday gifts, even as 42% feel more stressed about affording gifts. The practice forecasts a 5.2% increase in US holiday retail sales to $1.08 trillion for the Nov–Dec season. Based on responses from more than 1,500 US consumers, EY-Parthenon says shoppers are prioritizing promotions, cutting discretionary spending, favoring physical gifts, and increasingly self-gifting to manage affordability pressures.
Ernst & Young LLP reports findings from a survey of 200 US state and local government decision-makers showing 68% said their modernization initiatives delivered positive ROI over the past two years. The firm notes leaders remain concerned about legacy-system spending (38% spend significantly more on maintenance vs. 12% on new solutions), widespread use of unauthorized “shadow SI” tools (84% concerned), and challenges attracting talent and securing funding—despite 96% reporting a documented modernization roadmap.
EY-Parthenon reports that 54% of US GLP-1 users take the medication primarily for weight management, driving changes in consumer behavior including reduced sweet and salty snack consumption, increased fresh produce and protein intake, and wardrobe changes (72% changed clothing sizes; 46% switched apparel brands). The EY-Parthenon GLP-1 Consumer Survey (March–May 2026) included 14,883 general-population respondents and 3,602 current or former GLP-1 users; the research projects 35%–40% of US adults will have used a GLP-1 by 2033.
Ernst & Young LLP (EY US) reports that the global MedTech industry reached approximately US$650 billion in revenue in 2025 (11% growth) and generated US$325 billion in the first half of 2026, a 7.1% increase year over year. The report finds record financing and deal activity — MedTech financing hit US$63 billion for the year ended June 30, 2026 (up 87%) and disclosed M&A value surged to roughly US$130 billion — and highlights AI integration, innovation and alternative care expansion as key drivers, according to EY.
