Meta’s Lebanon data center fuels Boone County business activity and major local infrastructure spending
Meta’s second Indiana data center in Lebanon is operational, supporting hundreds of local technical jobs and drawing significant construction payroll and consumer activity. The company has also committed tens of millions in public infrastructure work and long-term community donations.
Meta’s Lebanon data center, described by the company as part of a more than $10 billion Indiana investment, is now operational and supports about 300 permanent technical operations jobs, including HVAC specialists, network technicians and site engineers. During construction the site drew more than 4,000 trade workers to Boone County, and local merchants and restaurant owners report increased foot traffic and revenue; a Lebanon restaurant owner said customer volume has "almost doubled."
Beyond immediate commerce, Meta has directed more than $75 million toward public water and wastewater projects and roughly $45 million toward road improvements and ecological restoration along the Deer Creek corridor, according to the report. The company also committed $1 million annually for 20 years to the Boone County Community Trust for family energy assistance and is working with partners on emergency water bill support. A Meta spokesperson said these investments support thousands of jobs and generate millions in tax revenue.
