Indianapolis-based Eli Lilly files six lawsuits, urges platforms and payment firms to help halt illegal retatrutide market

Eli Lilly said it escalated efforts to protect patients by filing six new lawsuits against U.S. sellers of black‑market retatrutide and by referring hundreds of bad actors to regulators and law enforcement worldwide. The company urged the platforms, payment processors, card companies and logistics firms that sellers rely on to take action to stop the illicit trade.

Lilly emphasized that retatrutide is an investigational molecule in Phase 3 clinical trials and that no medicine containing it has been approved by any regulatory agency. The company cited FDA warnings that unapproved drugs sold for human use pose significant risks and criticized clinics and suppliers that are marketing unverified products as weight‑loss treatments.
