WonderLab Museum announced it received a $208,500 grant from the Indiana Youth Institute through the Strengthening Youth Programs in Indiana (SYPI) initiative to support and expand youth STEM outreach in southern Indiana and to strengthen the museum’s organizational capacity.

WonderLab Museum of Science, Health, and Technology announced that the Indiana Youth Institute awarded it a $208,500 grant. The funding was made in connection with Strengthening Youth Programs in Indiana (SYPI), an initiative of Lilly Endowment Inc. launched in 2023, and is intended to sustain and expand programs serving young people in southern Indiana.
Planned uses cited by WonderLab include expanded regional awareness and wayfinding; professional development for museum staff; upgrades to the museum’s educational lab space; partnership events connecting Indiana University researchers and regional educators with the public; and hiring a part-time grant writer to support longer-term funding. The museum said the funding will help focus work in 10 surrounding counties and build capacity over the next several years.
