Seymour mourns former police chief and councilman J.J. Reinhart Jr.; flags flown at half-staff

According to WKKG, Reinhart began work with the Seymour Police Department in 1970, became chief in 1988 and retired as chief in 2000. The station reported he represented City Council District 1, served in the U.S. Army from 1967–1970 (including one year in Vietnam), was a founding member of the Seymour Redevelopment Commission, helped with the Veterans Memorial at Gaiser Park, and will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery.
