IU East launches 2026 Eastern Indiana Corridor business survey for nine counties, open Sept. 8–18
Indiana University East’s Business and Economic Research Center is surveying businesses in Dearborn, Decatur, Fayette, Franklin, Henry, Randolph, Rush, Union and Wayne counties from Sept. 8–18, 2026 to update its Eastern Indiana Corridor Business Confidence Index; results will be published by the end of 2026.
The IU East Business and Economic Research Center (BERC), working with local economic development organizations and chambers, is conducting the 2026 Eastern Indiana Corridor annual business survey. The confidential, roughly 10-minute survey asks business owners or managers about firm demographics, views on this year’s performance and expectations for next year. It is open to businesses in Dearborn, Decatur, Fayette, Franklin, Henry, Randolph, Rush, Union and Wayne counties from Sept. 8 to Sept. 18, 2026.
BERC says it will use the responses to maintain the IU East Eastern Indiana Corridor Business Confidence Index (formerly the Regional Business Confidence Index) and to support local and regional economic studies. Survey results will be made public by the end of 2026 and might inform future strategic planning by area economic development corporations and chambers.
