21Alive reported that on 2026-10-07 Sweetwater placed a final, ceremonial beam to mark a topping-off milestone for a $36.7 million expansion of its Fort Wayne distribution center. Construction began in April 2026; the expansion will add nearly 170,000 square feet to a facility that previously measured 524,363 square feet and, when finished, will bring close to 14 acres under one roof.
The project includes an estimated $6.2 million in public infrastructure improvements along the U.S. 30 corridor and follows the campus’s annexation into Fort Wayne city limits. Officials who spoke at the ceremony, including Fort Wayne Mayor Sharon Tucker and Sweetwater Chief People and Culture Officer Jeff Osterman, said the company expects its Fort Wayne workforce to keep growing; completion is expected by August 2027.
