IU Kokomo Poland study-abroad strengthens students’ global business skills; program set to return in 2028
Fourteen Indiana University Kokomo students completed a 10-day study-abroad program in Poland that combined classroom work with company meetings in Warsaw and Kraków, cultural-site visits and a team field project. IU Kokomo says the program develops professional skills and global perspectives and plans to offer it again in 2028.
Fourteen Indiana University Kokomo students returned from a 10-day study-abroad program in Poland led by faculty members Gloria Preece and Adam Smith. While in Warsaw and Kraków, students met with executives and professionals from organizations including PwC, LeverX, Volvo Tech Hub, Jacobs, the American Chamber of Commerce in Poland and the University of Warsaw, focusing on strategy, innovation, sustainability and workforce development.
Students also visited cultural and historical sites — including Warsaw’s Old Town, the Warsaw Rising and Polin museums, Wawel Castle and the Auschwitz I and II‑Birkenau sites — and completed team field projects analyzing Poland’s business environment and consumer marketplace. IU Kokomo framed the trip as experiential learning that builds cultural competence and career readiness.
