Colts’ Sunday-night trip to Chiefs spotlights Alec Pierce’s status and Indianapolis’ run-defense questions

Source report dated 2026-09-19: The Chiefs’ game preview says Kansas City will host the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday night and provides final injury notes: the Chiefs are missing Josh Simmons and Chamarri Conner, while Chris Jones and Mansoor Delane are listed as questionable. For Indianapolis, wide receiver Alec Pierce – who missed Thursday’s practice while managing a heel injury – carries no official designation into the game, making his availability one to watch.

Source report dated 2026-09-19: The preview emphasizes two matchup pressures for the Colts: Kansas City’s newly resurgent rushing game (highlighting Ken Walker’s 173-yard performance last week) and the need to contain Colts tailback Jonathan Taylor. The Chiefs note Indianapolis allowed 202 rushing yards to Baltimore in Week 1 and that Colts Defensive Coordinator Lou Anarumo will likely have adjustments to deploy, leaving game-planning and personnel decisions unresolved heading into Sunday night.
