Purdue University held a topping-out ceremony on Sept. 17, 2026, for the south side of its Academic Success Building in Indianapolis after the final steel beam was lifted into place and signed by students, faculty, staff and project partners. The beam carried traditional topping-out symbols including flags and an evergreen.
The university said the project is now more than 60% complete. The Academic Success Building will include a dining hall, classrooms, labs and student housing, and Purdue described it as a new downtown Indianapolis landmark. The building is scheduled to be completed by fall 2027.
