Hoosier investor Brad Gerstner commits $30M+ to investment accounts for Indiana children
Brad Gerstner, founder and CEO of Altimeter Capital, says his family foundation will deposit $250 into the investment account of every eligible Indiana child born in 2023 or 2024, covering more than 140,000 children and totaling more than $30 million.
Brad Gerstner told Tony Katz on 93 WIBC that his family foundation will contribute $250 to the investment account of every eligible Indiana child born in 2023 or 2024. The pledge, which Gerstner linked to the Trump Accounts idea he helped develop, covers more than 140,000 Hoosiers and amounts to more than $30 million.
Gerstner said he formed the Invest America Foundation in 2022 to draft related legislation, and that the effort became law "as part of the reconciliation bill on July 4, 2025" and was launched July 4, 2026. He framed the initiative as a way to broaden household investment and cited projected long-term compound-growth values for the accounts.
