Alec Pierce on track to play in Colts' Week 1 opener vs. Ravens
After ankle surgery in March, Alec Pierce was activated Aug. 27 and has taken reps in practice; head coach Shane Steichen said Monday that Pierce "should be good" and is on track for the Colts’ Week 1 game against the Baltimore Ravens at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Wide receiver Alec Pierce is on track to play in the Indianapolis Colts’ season opener against the Baltimore Ravens, the team reported. Pierce had ankle surgery in March, began the year on the PUP list during training camp and was activated Aug. 27; he took reps in practices last week, and coach Shane Steichen said Monday, “He should be good.”
Steichen said the team will give Pierce reps in practice this week as it works him back up to game speed. The coach noted Pierce and quarterback Daniel Jones already have an established connection from last season and that getting additional practice routes and timing work will be important ahead of the Week 1 matchup at Lucas Oil Stadium.
