The City of Westfield introduced its proposed 2027 budget at the Sept. 14, 2026 City Council meeting, which included a public hearing, the city said. The proposed 2027 operations budget totals $89,392,368 and the Civil City budget totals $141,525,099.

City officials said more than half of the recommended budget is dedicated to the Westfield Police and Fire departments. The city estimated a 2027 tax rate of $0.7162 per $100 of assessed value (compared with $0.7163 in 2026) and said the proposal was developed using a zero-based budgeting approach.
