Special Olympics Indiana will stage its 2027 Polar Plunge season showcase at SKYLAKE Adventures in Sheridan, moving the signature fundraiser from Eagle Creek Park. The season runs across more than 20 events from January through March 2027; additional schedule and registration details will be announced soon.

Special Olympics Indiana announced on Oct. 1, 2026 that its 2027 Polar Plunge season showcase will relocate from Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis to SKYLAKE Adventures in Sheridan. SKYLAKE — which opened in June 2026 — will host a two-day showcase with a school plunge on Friday and a community plunge on Saturday; the season will include 20-plus events statewide from January through March 2027.
The announcement notes accessibility features such as ramp access to the water and says the new venue’s winter attractions (including snow tubing and ice skating) provide a different backdrop for the event. In 2026 more than 3,000 Hoosiers participated in Polar Plunge events statewide and raised more than $1 million; nearly 1,000 individuals registered for the two-day showcase in 2026. Organizers said full 2027 schedule and registration information will be released soon.
