Noblesville council annexes land for two housing developments, advances $150K for Finch Creek Park tunnel design

At its Aug. 25 meeting the Noblesville Common Council approved two super‑voluntary annexations that together total roughly 159 acres. About 99 acres were annexed for Encore at Linden Walk, a planned 55‑and‑older development at Prairie Baptist Road and 156th Street that is expected to include 210 residential units and amenities. Approximately 60 acres were annexed for Parks at Crossroads, a planned neighborhood north of Ind. 32 that is proposed to contain 324 homes and several amenities.

The council also approved a $150,000 appropriation for professional engineering services to design a pedestrian tunnel under Boden Road to provide access to Finch Creek Park; the expense will be paid from the city’s park fund and the council noted construction is not expected to start for several years. Separately, the council vacated a 4‑foot alley strip behind the Mill Top Banquet and Conference Center so the owner can install a fire service vault for a new fire service line; the ordinance passed with conditions including sidewalk repairs and a request to remove a dumpster.
