IU Indianapolis unveils $110M James T. Morris Arena and campus service upgrades for fall 2026

Indiana University Indianapolis says its new $110 million James T. Morris Arena is set to open for the 2026 fall semester and will serve as the Jaguars’ home while also hosting collegiate and high school sports, recreational activities and other campus and community events. Athletic events will use mobile tickets and are free for students with a valid CrimsonCard. Parking and Transportation Services will require student parking permits to be purchased online and is offering free bike permits and on-campus vehicle assistance Monday–Friday.

Campus housing and student services are being updated ahead of the semester: renovation of Ball Hall’s former annex converted a former police station into housing that adds 40 beds and will house a School of Nursing Living Learning Community in its first year. University Tower received 20 additional washers and dryers and had 12 rooms upgraded for ADA accessibility. Outdoor recreation space now includes two full-grass intramural fields, a RecRe automated checkout box is due in early September to simplify equipment rental, and the Student Success District renovation is underway with full opening planned for the 2027 spring semester; several tutoring centers will begin offering appointments this fall. The campus also added more NaloxBox stations.
