Nonprofit HAND opens six affordable three‑bed homes in Carmel, expanding Hamilton County portfolio
Hamilton County Reporter says HAND celebrated the completion of Home Place Duets on Sept. 29, 2026, adding six three‑bedroom affordable rental homes in Carmel. HAND will own and manage the three duplex buildings long term; each unit carries a property‑based housing voucher and qualified residents pay 30% of income for rent.

Per Hamilton County Reporter, HAND held an open house and ribbon cutting on Sept. 29, 2026, to mark Home Place Duets’ completion — six new three‑bedroom rental homes in Carmel. HAND will own and manage the three duplex buildings long term; one unit is handicap accessible and each home carries a property‑based housing voucher that remains with the unit.
The development sits at the corner of 108 & McPherson Street in the Home Place area, cost $3 million to build and was developed by HAND with H‑E Homes as builder, Inherent Commercial as owner’s representative and CEC Inc. as engineer. Funding included HOME‑ARP through the Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority, Hamilton County CDBG funds and financing from Lake City Bank. Residents are expected to begin moving in October 2026 and will be referred through Prevail Inc. and Family Promise of Hamilton County.
