Brownsburg shifts National Night Out to Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, adding room for vendors and activities

Current Publishing reported on 2026-10-07 that the Brownsburg Police Department moved its annual National Night Out to Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park to make room for more vendors, parking and activities. The event ran from 5 to 7:30 p.m. and drew dozens of vendors and community organizations, including the Hendricks County Prosecutor’s Office and the Willow Center.

The program featured demonstrations by the department’s Bravo Unit, motorcycle unit and drone operators and included Brownsburg Fire Territory; Capt. Jennifer Barrett said demonstrations ran every 30 minutes. Attendees toured police and emergency vehicles — including an armored police vehicle — and a K-9 narcotics demonstration closed the evening. The Brownsburg Sertoma Club presented checks to Care to Change Counseling ($6,000), Family Promise of Hendricks County ($6,000) and the Brownsburg Education Foundation ($2,400). Sponsors thanked in the report included Lucas Oil Raceway Park, Porters Towing, Ben’s Garage and Hendricks County Bank & Trust. Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita was the final speaker and described the turnout as unusually large.
