The DCSC Board of School Trustees will select the district’s next superintendent before Dr. Shafer’s June retirement, the statement said. Assistant Superintendent for Instruction Dr. Morgan Walker and Chief Financial Officer Corey Herbert offered endorsements of Shafer’s emphasis on instruction, facilities planning and positioning the district for future needs. The district invited the community to join celebrations marking his years of service.
